Libertarians Shipping Off

silicon valley billionaire funding creation of artificial libertarian islands

Details says the experiment would be "a kind of floating petri dish for implementing policies that libertarians, stymied by indifference at the voting booths, have been unable to advance: no welfare, looser building codes, no minimum wage, and few restrictions on weapons."

I love this idea.  What could possibly go wrong in a society designed after the ideals of Ayn Rand?  It's not like there are any sci-fi stories which portray this sort of situation.

And if it does fail, it gets rid of these people for the rest of us.

  1. This is very interseting. But who will willingly go there if there the kind of person who has a minimum wage type job? I can't see maids or cashiers volenteering to go to this place!

  2. Id go there, few weapon restrictions? Fuck work....

  3. Hmm, doesn't sound too promising, but at least we'll know for sure.
